Atelier Version 1.0.0

Advanced

Custom Liquid

Add the Custom Liquid section to any page, or a Custom Liquid block to the product information panel. Paste in the snippet an app or a developer gave you.

App blocks

Atelier supports app blocks in the product information panel and in the Apps section, which can be added to any page.

The theme itself needs no apps. If you uninstall one, the block disappears and the rest of the page is unaffected.

Metafields

Atelier reads a few optional metafields. None of them are required, and nothing breaks if they are not set. Create them in Settings > Custom data.

Product

Namespace and keyTypeUsed by
custom.materialRich textA collapsible row, when you set its metafield key

Any collapsible row can read from a metafield in the custom namespace. Enter the key on the block, for example material or fit.

Collection

Namespace and keyTypeUsed by
custom.banner_imageFile, imageThe collection banner, instead of the collection image
custom.editorial_introRich textThe collection banner, instead of the description
custom.seasonSingle line textThe collection banner kicker

These let one collection carry its own art direction without a new template.

Localization

Country and language selectors appear in the footer when your store sells in more than one market. Set markets up in Settings > Markets.

Every piece of text the theme itself produces can be translated. Use the free Translate & Adapt app from Shopify, or edit the language files under Themes > Edit default theme content.

Theme settings > Search.

Search opens as a full screen panel. With Show results as visitors type enabled, products, collections, journal articles, and pages appear as they type. Choose which of those appear.

Suggested links are shown before anyone has typed anything.

Theme files

If you are comfortable editing code, the structure is:

`` assets/ CSS, JavaScript, and images blocks/ not used; Atelier uses section blocks config/ theme settings layout/ the page wrapper locales/ translations sections/ page sections snippets/ reusable pieces of markup templates/ which sections appear on which page ``

Section-specific styles live inside the section file that uses them, in a {% stylesheet %} tag, so they are only delivered on pages that render that section.
